In Episode 6, Dr. William (Bill) Halal brings the perspective of a futurist to the wisdom of our global thought leaders. Recognized as among the top 100 of world futurists, Bill uses the technology of collective intelligence to combine the thinking of experts from many fields and disciplines to forecast the emergence of an Age of Consciousness in the decade of the 2020s, superseding an Age of Technology during which humanity made prodigious leaps in its ability to manipulate data and communicate electronically culminating in the emergence of the early stages of artificial intelligence. Beyond this is the domain of subjective consciousness where humanity has the opportunity to create and embrace a global consciousness to nurture a thriving global civilization.
This future is by no means certain and people will have to work at it to make it happen. Bill, however, has charted the Life Cycle of Evolution to show the tenacity of life to be successful and joins the chorus of our other wisdom keepers in encouraging us to believe that humanity will overcome the current mega crises and create a prosperous global civilization for all.
Bill Halal has eminent qualifications with degrees from Purdue University and the University of California at Berkeley, and he is Professor Emeritus at George Washington University. He has published 7 books and hundreds of articles. He served as a major in the US Airforce and was an aerospace engineer on the Apollo program.
In his latest book, Beyond Knowledge: How Technology is Driving an Age of Consciousness, Bill explains how his research is identifying the passage to a new frontier “beyond knowledge” in which humanity must reach maturity and grow up and resolve its differences to develop a peaceful and sustainable world order. Global futurist, Hazel Henderson, describes it as “a highly original exploration of the next stage in human evolution.”
