I graduated from UBC in 2014 with a BA, majoring in Classical Archaeology and Ancient History and minoring in Anthropology. I have always loved learning new things for the sake of learning and not with the goal of a particular career, which is probably why it took me 8 years to graduate (3 yrs at Kwantlen before transferring to UBC for 5 yrs). I kept finding courses in various subject areas that looked interesting and if they fit together into a schedule then I would take them. I always say that If I had had the money I would have been a life long student.
During the summers I had worked several construction jobs including two summers building the UBC Bioenergy and Research Facility on campus. After graduation I fell into construction work again and have working in the field of home renovations for the past few years under a general contractor. This has allowed me to learn a wide variety of skills about renovating both the inside and outside of homes.
I have continued to stay in contact with the student body of UBC as the Advisor for the UBC chapter of Gamma Sigma Alpha which recognizes the top scholars from among the Fraternity and Sorority members on campus. I was also recently brought on as the Advisor for the UBC chapter of the Order of Omega which recognizes the leaders of the Fraternity and Sorority community based on their involvement within their chapters, the UBC community, and society as a whole.
