Elisabet Sahtouris, PhD (1936 - 2024)  was an internationally recognized evolution biologist, futurist, and speaker, known for her work on living systems, evolution, and cosmology. With a post-doctoral degree from the American Museum of Natural History, she taught at MIT and the University of Massachusetts, contributed to the NOVA-Horizon TV series, and was a Fellow of the World Business Academy, holding an honorary Chair in Living Economies. She also served as an advisor to Ethical Markets and the Masters in Business program at Schumacher College.

As a Professor in Residence at Chaminade University in Honolulu, Dr. Sahtouris convened international symposia on the Foundations of Science in Hokkaido and Kuala Lumpur. She co-founded the WorldWide Indigenous Science Network, was a Fellow of the Findhorn Foundation, and appeared in several TED talks and films. Her work explored the application of biological principles to organizational design in business, government, and society.

A prolific author, Dr. Sahtouris wrote EarthDance: Living Systems in Evolution, A Walk Through Time: From Stardust to Us, Gaia’s Dance: The Story of Earth & Us, and Biology Revisioned (co-authored with Willis Harman), along with numerous articles and book chapters.

Through her visionary insights, she bridged science, indigenous wisdom, and systems thinking, offering a profound perspective on humanity’s place within the living Earth. Her work continues to inspire those seeking a more holistic, cooperative, and regenerative future—one that honors the deep intelligence of nature and the interwoven story of life itself.
