I am at the Faculty of Medicine at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel with over 30 years of experience in teaching and research. I am specializing in the use of microbes for the benefit of mankind. I have performed research on the basic science involved in the production of a variety of useful metabolites from renewable resources. I am an avid advocate for the use of microbes to improve our environment. I am devoted to sustainable development on all levels, hoping to convince others that we need to change our habits, the sooner the better. My scientific expertise is in the following areas: Industrial Microbiology (Biotechnology).Production of primary and secondary metabolites using microorganisms, Control of antibiotic production, Environmental Microbiology, Biofuels.
