Alan is university educator and psychologist with over forty years experience, and is currently teaching "Storytelling and Healing" in Lesley University Graduate Expressive Therapies program.
For over thirty years he has presented at many regional, national and international conferences to educators, psychologists, health care professionals and corporate leaders.
He is also the co-founder, director and designer of The Girls Center (TGC) that provided in-school leadership programs for elementary through high school girls in several school systems for many years. In addition he developed an after-school national award-winning girl directed television show, as well as an elder woman-girl partnership program that provided community services for hospitals and other community programs.
The Girl Center programs were the recipients of two commendations from The White House under Presidents Clinton and Bush, and the national Daily Points of Light Foundation. In addition, The Girls Center has received several commendations from the United States Senate by Senators Kennedy and Kerry, as well as the Massachusetts Governor’s Office, State Senate and House of Representatives.
As the founder-director of Life Story Theatre Alan has written, directed and performed in over twenty plays, as well as presenting widely as a seanchie, a Celtic storyteller, at a regional and international level.
He has also produced and directed educational arts videos, and been interviewed on national teleconferences and community television programs.
