Associate Manager of Workforce Operations with BC Infrastructure Benefits, supporting DEI and Women in Construction.
Vancouver, BC
Long before today’s formalized concepts of “DEI”, and effectively “Pax Humana”, my parents ingrained these values into our family dynamic. We learned of the sacrifices that my grandparents made in WWII to enable us, as Canadians, to live in a free and democratic society. We were taught the importance of self-initiative and discipline, accountability, and community service. These values have served me well.

After completing high school, I enrolled in the Katimavik National Experience Program between 2008 – 2009 ( https://katimavik.org/en/ ), where I experienced different communities across Canada, including the Cree Nation of Chisasibi in Quebec, Burnaby in British Columbia, and Woodstock in Ontario. Through this initiative, I spent 9 months volunteering full-time in these three communities.

From 2010 to 2012, I attended Humber College in Toronto, Ontario, completing my Developmental Services Worker Diploma. Throughout my studies I worked for Vita Community Living Services in Vaughan, Ontario, before moving to British Columbia in 2014 and launching my career with PosAbilities Association of BC. In my 8 years with PosAbilities, I worked as a Residential Services Facilitator, Community Connector, Assistant Supervisor and then finally Team Leader.

In 2021, I decided to complete my BA of Liberal Studies at Queens University with Distinction, through distance learning. In the same year, my career path shifted and I moved over to a Crown Corporation called BC Infrastructure Benefits (BCIB) as a Site Representative.

Today I am an Associate Manager with BCIB, working on major projects such as the Broadway Subway Project and the Pattullo Bridge Replacement Project. I serve as Co-Chair for the Building Solutions Together: Advancing Women in the Trades Committee, facilitator for Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training, member on site Joint Occupational Health & Safety Committees, trainer for Building It Green climate action training, and I am actively involved in the Accessibility Committee as well as the Equity In Trades working group.

In May 2025, I presented at the Canadian Apprenticeship Forum in Toronto, ON, speaking on the topic of how BCIB uses data to track its Equity Goal, making effective strides towards change rather than just meeting a quota.

I have always gravitated toward opportunities to interact with others; that is how we nuture and advance our society. I look forward to my involvement with the Visioneers and meeting others who share value of service to the community.
